Playgroups

The playgroups within the Highland Shores Moms Club are currently organized by the children’s ages and the mother’s schedule. The best way to find out which playgroup is right for you is by providing us with your child’s information and best available days.

Each playgroup is assigned a "Lead Mom". The Lead Mom will be the organizer, schedule maker, and contact person for their group. Duties of the Lead Mom include organizing her group of mom’s by communicating to them about upcoming events, scheduling weekly play dates, and keeping in touch with other Lead Moms about Club related matters.

Our playgroups meet once a week. The host mom for the week can choose to host the play date in their home or at another location. Special outings or birthday celebrations may be included as well. We like to keep things simple and pleasurable for our children so they can build social skills and friendships through play.

OUTINGS AND SPECIAL EVENT
EXAMPLES FOR PLAYGROUP

Each individual playgroup has different schedules, needs and ideas for their children. The playgroups do as much as they want as long as it is an approved joint decision amongst the mothers involved. To give the playgroup time a little variety, some mothers have chosen to do outings, parties, crafts, and other creative functions to entertain the children. Here are some examples:

  • The Zoo
  • The Ft. Worth Science Museum
  • The Dallas Children’s Museum
  • The Science Place
  • The Arboretum
  • Swimming
  • Movies
  • Restaurants
  • Parks
  • Bowling
  • Chuck E. Cheese
  • Children’s Theater
